DIY Tips For Auto Spray Paint

f you want a custom paint job for your car, truck, SUV or van but can’t afford the prices the paint shops are charging then you can use auto spray paint to do it yourself until you are able to afford the professional paint job you need.

Even though a spray paint job will not look as nice as a professional paint job it can protect your car from rust and it will still look nice. For the older vehicles with rust on them already these spray paint touch-up jobs can be a great way to make vehicles look nicer without paying the prices that an actual garage would charge just for the supplies. Auto spray paint cans can be purchased at car parts stores like O’Reilly’s, Auto Zone and Advanced Auto as well as some retail stores that offer an automotive section. However, a car-related store is more likely to have the colors and cans that you are looking for.

Dupli color is a brand of auto spray paint that is known for its quality, whether you are just doing a touch-up or spray painting your entire vehicle. A garage or body shop will typically use spray guns to paint your car when they are doing a large section, but if you use the same application techniques when using your can then you can see almost similar results. The gun works much better than the cans though so it may take a little tweaking to perfect.

Even if you do not go with the Duplicolor brand spray paints you can still find auto spray paints that are of good quality and affordable to use on your cover up job. Follow the tips below and spray painting a section or entire car will be easy and smooth.

  • Preparing the section to be painted is very important otherwise the paint will not stick and it will probably look a lot worse than it did before.
  • Once the section has been prepared then you go ahead and apply the auto spray paint. They say if you wipe the spot down with a tack tag then it will prevent any dust, hair or lint to be on the surface while you are trying to spray it with the cans. Light, even strokes will help make the job come out almost as good as the professional one.
